  • Get the correct hands

The measurement of the minute hand is all you need to know as the hour hand is always shorter. Minute hands are measured from the centre of the mounting hole to the tip. Second hands are a matter of choice and are optional: they should be approximately the same length as the minute hand - again a matter of taste. The minute hand and the second hand should be long enough to reach the outer edge of the numbers or the minute track on your dial. Most hands can be trimmed to a shorther length. Be careful here - you can change the look of the hands if you trim some of the styles we have available. As hands are easily bent you might consider buying the hand protector - see accessories.

Also remember, hands can be painted any colour you like - a great idea for those with imagination and wanting a different look.

Brass hands come with a protective coating. Peal this off before assembling onto movement.
